Database Creation
To create a new PlaneBase Mobile Database, follow the instructions below.
NOTE: On opening PlaneBase Mobile Database Creator a new PBData.sqb is created, any previous PBData.sqb databases are removed.
Once registered you should have the screen below in front of you,
Various options are available to build a custom PlaneBase Mobile Database with your seen details already included.
You will need to run PBDC and copy the PBData.sqb to your device each time after a database update release and importing your logs.
PlaneBase Mobile logs are stored on the Android Device as you log so no internet connection is needed logging or lookups.
Reset Selection:
Clicking this button will reset all the selected checkbox's.
Load Button:
This button can be used to load any saved settings, see save button below.
Save Button:
Once you have selected the databases you want adding to the PBData.sqb you can save them and they will load automatically the next time you open PBDC.
Database Selection:
The Checkbox's to the left of each database button can be Checked\Unchecked to select only the required database(s) for inclusion in your PlaneBase Mobile database.
Select All:
Selecting this checkbox will select all the databases available and allow you to select the continent you require by
selecting one from the drop down box next to the GenAv, Withdrawn or Preserved buttons.
GenAv, Withdrawn and Preserved:
If GenAv, Withdrawn or Preserved are selected then the 'Select Continent' drop down box is enabled, You need to select a continent for the required area of interest.
To add all GenAv, Withdrawn or Preserved select 'All' from the drop down list.
Example:
To add more than one continent for GenAv:
1. First build the PBData.sqb with required databases.
2. Uncheck all the other boxes apart from GenAv and then select the next continent required.
3. Press then Build PBMobile Database button.
Follow steps 1 to 3 for each continent required.
The above example can also be used for Withdrawn and Preserved.
Include Photo Details:
Selecting this checkbox will add any details found in your Photo Log to the PBData.sqb so you can also see on your Android device if you have a photo of
the searched for registration in the PBMobile app.
Sec Location Button (Sec Loc):
This allow you to select a second location for the PBData.sqb to be copied to, this could be Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive for example.
If using this feature with one of the cloud drives then please allow time for the data to sync before copying the PBData.sqb from the drive location on your device to the PlaneBase Mobile folder
On using the above, you need to select the top-level folder for example. C:\Google Drive or D:\Onedrive. a new PlaneBase Mobile folder will be created in the selected location.
NOTE: Selecting Mil Only will not build you a PBData.sqb containing just Military, Military aircraft can be found across the whole of PlaneBase's databases.
Below I have used the select all check box to select all the databases, i have also selected Withdrawn and Preserved.
When you have selected the required databases press the Build PBMobile Database button and allow time for the database to be built.
The image below shows the database being built and after each database is complete the button should turn green.
If any button turns Red then there was an issue and you should restart the program and try again.
Once the PBData.sqb has been built you have the option of opening the folder containing the PBData.sqb by clicking 'Yes' in the message box shown below.
The PBData.sqb can be found in the C:\PlaneBase\PlaneBase Mobile\Database folder.
Do Not try and copy the PBData.sqb database to your Android device if you have not installed the PlaneBase Mobile App itself (PBMobile.apk).
